The leader of the Action Congress of Nigerian (ACN) in the House of Representatives, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila may have landed in hot soup.
yemojanews.com was informed that the lawyer turned politician who is one of the lawmakers that have ears of the Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal, is already on his bended knees, begging his victims not to expose him to the world.
According to our source, Hon. Gbajabiamila who is among the inner caucus of the leadership of the House collected money running into several millions of naira from some of his colleagues in the ACN, promising them that they will be given chairmanship seats of some juicy committees in the House of Representatives.
But unknown to Gbajabiamila, Speaker Tambuwal has already pencilled down the names of lawmakers of the ACN who are loyal to him for the committees’ chairmanship positions. Among the lawmakers on the speaker’s list include Hon. Abike Dabiri Erewa, who Tambuwal wants to remain in the Diaspora Committee and Hon. Jumoke Okoya Thomas who is expected to chair another Committee in the House.
We gathered that when Gbajabiamila got wind of the Speaker’s list, he raced to Tambuwal’s office and told him to replace Abike Dabiri and Jumoke Okoya-Thomas with other names he presented.
‘He also lied to the Speaker that it was Asiwaju Bola Tinubu that sent him. But Tambuwal later called Tinubu who denied giving such an instruction to Gbajabiamila. He wanted to replace the names of those two lawmakers with the ones he has collected money from, but he was unsuccessful’, our source stated.
However, as it became clearer to Gbajabiamila’s victim that they will not get any committee chairmanship position, most of them have besieged his office, asking for refund of their respective money.
‘One of the lawmakers even threatened to expose Gbajabiamila to the media if he refused to pay back the money collected,’ our source revealed.
