The fairytale wedding between the children of Lagos State Inland Revenue (LIRS) boss, Tunde Fowler and Ogbeni Oja of Ijebuland, Chief Bayo kuku; Funke Fowler and Abiodun Kuku has come and gone, but the ripples caused by the event described as the most flamboyant wedding in recent times is having a toll on the relationship between the bride’s father and Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos.
The marriage ceremony of the young couple was in two parts and held in two continents.
The first part was the traditional wedding held on October 22, 2011. The venue was the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos. The traditional wedding witnessed the sheer show of affluence as all the crème de la crème in the country struggled to get seats at the event.
The Forbes richest man in Africa, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, National leader of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Bola Tinubu, Federal lawmakers, Governors, Bank Managers, Captains of Industries and all who is who in the country made sure they were present at the traditional wedding which observers said may have gulped over N100 million .

Part two of the marriage ceremony was held in the Asian Country of United Arab Emirate on Saturday, November 19, 2011.
Yemojanews.com learnt that Dubai, the capital city of the UAE was bombarded by nouveau riche who had gone to witness the wedding of the children of one of their own. Moneybags in Nigeria flew on chartered flights to Dubai while sources claimed Fowler flew all his guests to the Arabian city on first class flights.
The Fowler and Kuku wedding attracted so much hype, owing to what many described as wasteful spending.
Expectedly, the Lagos Inland Revenue Boss, Babatunde Fowler has received several knocks from many quarters. Critics have questioned how he got so much money as a civil servant to blow on the wedding of her daughter.
Meanwhile, yemojanews.com gathered few days ago that the Governor of Lagos State, Raji Fashola is not happy with Fowler over the negative reactions the wedding is giving his government.
According to a source, ‘Gov. Fashola has been receiving many comments which suggest that Fowler used tax payers’ money to stage wedding for his daughter. Their argument is that people who worked hard for their money will not spend the way Fowler did. Neither Mike Adenuga nor Dangote will spend like that’, the source said.

Yemojanews.com gathered from our source that in a meeting recently, Gov. Fashola lambasted Tunde Fowler over the wedding.
‘Fashola told Fowler in the presence of the people at the meeting that he (Fowler) is too flamboyant and extravagant. And if he could have his way, the LIRS boss will be removed from office immediately’, our source added.
We learnt that since the one in town wedding, the relationship between the Governor and Fowler had been frosty.
However, sources said the godfather of ACN in Lagos, former Governor Bola Ahmed Tinubu is trying his best to mend fences between the duo.

Staff welfarism is damn neglected by Tunde Fowler led chairmainship of lirs & he runs the agency as if is a 1-man biz. & does not care about work’g environment of staffs-also just come-up with some obnoxious policies of sack’g workers without recourse 2 dir human-rights.
Hmnnn dts all I can say,av bn to quite a no of tax offices and it amazes me how some of their offices are not fully equiped,no A.C not a sensible functional computer system,the Office`s general settings does not speak well,much more of what their staffs look like in their polo vest which looks more like faded rag,Mr Fowler should pls look into his staff welfare cos they sure don’t potray a company that genrates revenue,and for his flamboyant lifestyle e.g owing a yatch well we will all surely reap what we sow…
This is rather coming late,however it is a known fact how Mr. Tunde Fowler squanders taxpayers money on his numerous girlfriends both in Nigeria and abroad.
He also lacks managerial skills as the LIRS he manages is a time bomb that is waiting to explode.

Fowler should be removed from office, apart from be flamboyant, he lacks managerial skills,he encourages redundancy.he gives job to his babes a lot, he is nothing but a big fool that squander taxpayers money as he likes. God will punish him, he refuse to pay his staff December salary before Xmas

Kuku is a known name in the celeb click and Fowler is a known name as well. I guess both families wanted to giv their kids a wedding they wanted and it ws done.
